Cincinnati area private school is building a high school campus

Miami Valley Christian Academy's $21.2 million high school will open a few miles away from its existing preK-12 campus.

One of the largest private schools in the Cincinnati area will construct a $21.2 million stand-alone high school building,

The Cincinnati Business Courier reports that Miami Valley Christian Academy has filed paperwork with the Hamilton County Recorder’s Office to construct a 82,500-square-foot high school building in Anderson Township.

The 31.8-acre parcel is seven minutes from the academy’s existing Cincinnati campus, where it has more than 1,150 students in preschool through grade 12. The new high school campus is expected to accommodate 500 students.

Plans for the school call for 27 classrooms; science and chemistry labs; fine arts and music spaces; office and conference rooms; a chapel for worship and gatherings; a large gym with locker rooms; and an athletic field.

A future construction phase would build new athletic fields, stands, a field house, a theater and expanded fine arts spaces.

The architect for the new school is KBA, and the builder is Cincinnati Commercial Contracting.
