The Tipp City (Ohio) Exempted Village school district has begun construction of a new preK-8 building.

The Tippecanoe Gazette reports that the new school site is being built on land between Tippecanoe Middle School and L.T. Ball Intermediate School, both of which are to be razed after the new facility is completed.

The new school will be a three-story structure with grades preK-2 on the first floor, grades 3 to 5 on the second floor, and grades 6 through 8 on the third floor. Each floor will have classrooms, flexible learning spaces and support areas. The school also features two full-size gymnasiums.

The architect is Garmann Miller, and the construction manager is Shook Construction.

The project also calls for renovations of the existing Tippecanoe High School and funding to abate and demolish the facilities that no longer will be used once construction is complete in 2027.
