The Lansing (Michigan) district has completed construction of a new $30 million campus for Mt. Hope School.

The Lansing State Journal reports that the building will welcome students later this month. The single-story, 57,290-square-foot facility replaces a 74-year-old, two-story building.

It has color-coded hallways, separate gymnasium and cafeteria areas and a performance stage in a high school-style cafeteria. The stage is linked to the music lab via a dedicated hallway. Acoustic tiles adorn the music lab ceiling.

Classrooms have an audio system that will enable teachers to be heard through speakers. Classroom doors have automatic locks, and visitors will enter through a secure vestibule before being allowed inside the main building.

Some of the rooms have high ceilings and visible ducting or plumbing lines that are color-coded for educational reasons.

The premises are entirely enclosed by fencing, and paved walkways line either side of the fence.

The school was built with money from a $130 million bond package approved by voters in 2022.
