The Camden County (North Carolina) district has begun construction of a $91.3 million high school.
The Daily Advance reports that the 153,000-square-foot school is being built in Camden, about a mile north of the existing high school. It is scheduled to be ready to open in 2027.
The main campus building will be two stories and have room for expanded programming in early childhood development, welding, animal science and more. The new school also will house an auxiliary gymnasium, which will include a competition gym, seating and a performance stage with lighting.
The campus also will have full athletic program amenities--track and field space, soccer fields, baseball and softball fields and a synthetic turf football field. The football field will have seating for more than 1,700 spectators.
The architect is Moseley Architects, and the builder is Heartland Construction.
