Purdue breaks ground on $168 million business school facility
Purdue University has held a groundbreaking ceremony on the West Lafayette, Indiana, campus on a $168 million facility for the Mitch Daniels School of Business.
The 164,000-square-foot facility will become Purdue’s second-largest classroom building in West Lafayette, behind only the Wilmeth Active Learning Center.
In addition to flexible space for academic instruction and conferences, it also will feature modern teaching and research labs for financial trading, data visualization, behavioral research and experiential learning.
The university's trustees approved plans for the building in December 2023. Occupancy of the new building is expected in fall 2027.
The estimated total project cost is $168 million, Purdue says. Of the total, $125 million will be for the new building and related utility work; the remaining $43 million will be for three large classrooms, land acquisition and building demolition, renovations to the Krannert Building, and additional site work.
The architects are Gensler and BSA Life Structures.
The building will give Purdue's business school three facilities, joining the Krannert Building and Jerry S. Rawls Hall.
