Elementary school under construction in Le Sueur, Minn.

Le Sueur-Henderson Elementary School is scheduled to open in August 2024.

The Le Sueur-Henderson (Minn.) district has begun construction on a $40.4 million elementary school in Le Sueur.

The Le Sueur County News reports that Le Sueur-Henderson Elementary School is being built adjacent to the high school. 

The two-story, 113,090-square-foot K-5 school will have a 30,000-square-foot field house with a three-court gymnasium and locker rooms, and a 6,000-square-foot storm shelter. The site also will have a new parking lot, bus drop-off and two dedicated playground areas. 

Funding for the construction comes from an August 2022 bond issue approved by voters. Construction is expected to be completed in August 2024.  

The builder is Kraus-Anderson and the architect is ATS&R.
