The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, based in Erie, Pa., is partnering with Jacksonville University to open a campus in Jacksonville, Fla.
The campus will be called LECOM at Jacksonville University and will welcome about 75 medical students in 2026, the university says in a news release.
LECOM plans to establish its new facility within the Jacksonville University Medical Mall, a mixed-use healthcare plaza at the north end of the university’s campus in the Arlington neighborhood.
The plaza houses the university’s 104,000-square-foot Health Sciences Complex and its School of Orthodontics Teaching Clinic; Jacksonville University’s Occupational Therapy teaching facility for immersive clinical training; and a146-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, Dolphin Pointe Health Care.
The campus will be Lake's Erie's fifth. The other locations are Bradenton, Fla., Elmira, N.Y., Greensburg, Pa., and the original site in Erie, Pa.
