The Torrington (Conn.) district is constructing a combination Torrington Middle School and Torrington High School in Torrington.
The 310,000-square-foot campus will have separate wings for the three-story middle and four-story high school, reportsWFSB. The middle school will accommodate about 629 students and the high school about 1,021 students.The building wings will be connected by an auditorium, two separate dining rooms, two gyms and support spaces for athletes.
The new facility is being built on the site of the existing Torrington High School.
The existing high school will remain open during construction and will be demolished when the new building is occupied.
Construction is slated to begin in October 2022 and is expected to be completed by February 2025.
