After its first year in existence Destin High School, a charter school in Destin, Fla., for grades nine to 11, is expanding.
The school is planning to construct a $9 million, three-story, 26,000-square-foot building on campus that will have 23 classrooms for wet science labs and art studios, reports WEAR-TV.
The campus will also have a 3,000-square-foot athletic and physical training building, reports WKRG 5.
Destin High School opened in August 2021 with about 300 students in grades nine through 11, reports The Destin Log.
Funds for construction will come from donations and fundraisers. Officials expect the building to be completed next year.
