The district will operate the school on the campus of the St. Jude’s Ranch for Children in Boulder City, Nev.

The Clark County (Nev.) district is partnering with a residential treatment center to construct a healing facility and school for victims of sex trafficking.

St. Jude’s $15 million center will be built in Boulder City, Nev., on a 10-acre section of the St. Jude's Ranch for Children campus, reports the Boulder City Review.

The facility will be separate from the rest of the campus and have homes, an administrative and emergency shelter building and the school and will serve students ages 10 through 18 years old.

The Clark County district will operate the school, and St. Jude will operate the housing, counseling and other services. The school district estimated it will cost $5 million to build the facility.

“Las Vegas has been a hotbed for sex trafficking for many years,” said Clark County Superintendent Jesus Jara in a news release. “I look forward to the day when this facility will provide these children the specialized attention they will need, (and they) are able to overcome their traumas and lead healthy and productive lives.”

Work on the center is expected to start in the first quarter of 2022.
