A facility under construction at the St. Thomas University College of Law in Miami Gardens, Fla., will focus on social justice.
The Benjamin L. Crump Center for Social Justice will provide innovative programming, symposia and training to the next generation of social justice advocates, according to a university news release.
Attorney Ben Crump and St. Thomas University College of Law are partnering on the initiative.
Crump has been active in civil rights litigation; he has represented the families of Trayvon Martin, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, among others.
Truist Financial Corporation, through its Truist Charitable Fund, is allocating $1 million toward the facility.
A $35 million fundraising campaign by the College of Law will also support the project.
