More than $7 million has been raised by the Center for Creative Education to construct a private school in West Palm Beach, Fla., for underserved students.

The Foundations School will serve about 200 students in kindergarten through third grade who are at risk of academic failure, reports The Palm Beach Daily News

The school will consist of a 28,000-square-foot building that will house administration offices and elementary classrooms, and a 22,000-square-foot building that will have a media and visual arts center.

The Foundations School now operates out of a smaller campus in West Palm Beach.

The school was established to support students who, based on test scores, would not be successful without substantial support. Some are behind academically, and others attend poorly performing schools or may be living in difficult economic circumstances.

Construction is expected to be complete in fall 2022.
