Royse City (Texas) district is constructing a replacement elementary school

Once the new Ruth Cherry Elementary School is complete, the existing building will become an early childhood center.

The Royse City (Texas.) district is constructing a replacement elementary school. 

The Ruth Cherry Elementary School construction project is part of the district's $230 million bond proposal that voters approved in May, reports The Royse City Herald-Banner.

Once the new Ruth Cherry Elementary is complete, the existing building will be converted to an Early Childhood Center.

Other projects included in the referendum were  a seventh and eighth elementary school; an expansion of Royse City High School focusing on career and technical education; expansions of the Herndon and Miss May Vernon elementaries and Ouida Baley Middle School; land purchases for future school sites; an agriculture project center, a district event center; technology, infrastructure and security upgrades; an expansion of the district stadium and  an expansion of the baseball and softball facilities.
