The new student center is being built to serve the city's and university's growing Catholic population.

A Catholic student center is being renovated on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan.

The renovation is part of a $14 million upgrade of St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center.

The project will add a new kitchen, renovate the student center, which will open later this fall, and construct a new church, which is set to open in late 2022.

The existing student center was accessible only by entering through a stairwell in the rear of the building and had no windows. The renovations are designed to make the space more inviting for students.

The upgrades will add a balcony where students can lounge or study when weather permits.

The architecture of the building will match other buildings on campus.
