Maple Crest Middle School in Kokomo, Ind., is constructing a $4.4 million STEM lab.
The project will convert what was a cafeteria into a STEM lab, reports The Kokomo Tribune.
This will create room for a maker space and a lab for the school’s robotics team. The maker space will feature 3D printers, vinyl cutters and computer numerical control (CNC) machines.
The robotics labs will help grow the program, which was established in 2018-19.
Work is underway and expected to wrap up by September 2022.
