The Tri County (Mich.) district has broken ground on an elementary school building.
The K-5 facility, which is being built near the district's high school and middle school, will replace two existing elementary schools and put all students on the same campus, reports The Daily News. in Greenville, Mich.
Funding for the school comes from a $37 million bond that voters approved in 2019.
Other improvements covered by the bond:
- A high school addition that will be a performance space and a cafeteria
- Modern science labs for hands-on learning
- Upgrades to bathroom facilities to meet codes
- Safety upgrades
The elementary school is scheduled to open by fall 2023.
