The Delhi (Calif.) school district is constructing a $15 million Career and Technical Education building that will offer programs for middle and high school students.
The 15,000-square-foot building will offer real-world technical skills in agriculture, welding, metal work, fabrication, and computer-aid design, reports the Merced-Sun Star.
The building will be constructed on a part of the Delhi High School grounds in Delhi, Calif., that’s now occupied by basketball courts.
Area residents also will have access to welding and manufacturing classes in the building.
In 2016, the board passed Measure W, a bond measure that provided $12 million for the career technical education building.
A $3 million state grant covered the remainder of the construction cost.
The building is expected to open in 2023.
Teter Architects and Engineers is the architect.
