St. Henry's Area School in Perham, Minn., is constructing an addition to its campus.
The Perham Focus reports the improvements to the existing Catholic school campus include a new building that will house grades K to 6; it will be designed to accommodate a later expansion for grades 7 and 8.
The school says it overdue for an upgrade; the existing building is over 100 years old and has accessibility limitations and mechanical and electrical problems.
This new building will have a gymnasium with a full-size basketball court and a parish hall that will be able to house up to 440 people.
The budget for the capital improvements is about $7.5 million
The next pieces of this project are expected to be complete by July 2022.
