$2 million donation will help Maryland university build a library

Feb. 11, 2020
Construction of the facility on Stevenson University's Owings Mills campus is being supported by the donation from the Philip A. Zaffere Foundation.

The Zaffere Foundation is named for an area businessman who developed formulas for the mass production of baking crumbs. Shoreman Food Technologies became the main supplier for brands such as Stove Top Stuffing and Mrs. Paul's frozen foods. The company was sold to PET Food Corp. in 1988. Zaffere died in 2016.
