Chemical company announces plan for research and innovation facility at University of Delaware
The Chemours Company, a specialty chemical company headquartered in Wilmington, Del., has announced plans to build a state-of-the-art 312,000-square-foot research and innovation facility on the University of Delaware's Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus in Newark, Del.
Construction on the facility, representing an investment of about $150 million, is expected to begin this year; plans call for it to be completed by early 2020.
The project will establish a partnership and talent development pipeline between the company and the university. It also a specialty chemical company keep 330 researcher and technician jobs in the Wilmington area.

"Not only will the university's students and faculty benefit from this vibrant new research partnership, but, together, we will be making our entire economy stronger and more resilient for years to come."
