Marquette University will break ground next month on a 750-bed residence hall on its Milwaukee campus.

The university says the the $96 million complex will house freshman and sophomore students in two 375-bed resident towers connected through the lower levels by dining and campus community space. The groundbreaking is set for Nov. 2.

Lora Strigens, Marquette's vice president for planning and strategy, says the residence halls will feature pod- and suite-like settings, as opposed to the traditional model of large buildings with small double rooms. It will be designed to meet LEED energy-efficiency and sustainability standards.
