WBTW-TV says the $18 million, 52,000-square-foot building will be constructed next to the Wall College of Business and Brittain Hall.
The university's plans call for construction to be completed by June 2017. The building is designed to provide about 100 offices for faculty and administrative staff, 15 to 18 classrooms with capacities ranging from 25 to 25, space for information technology services, and a "grab-n-go" food service operation.
The design will incorporate energy-efficient elements and sustainable strategies in an effort to receive LEED silver certification.
