Tulsa early childhood center breaks ground on new facility

New facility for the Crosstown Learning Center will enable school to serve more students

Construction has begun on a new $7.5 million early childhood education facility in Tulsa, Okla.

The Tulsa World reports that the Crosstown Learning Center, a not-for-profit school that serves children from 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten, has broken ground on a 23,000-square-foot facility adjacent to its existing home, a former church building.

School officials hope to move into the new expanded space in about a year. The center now houses about 90 students, and officials expect enrollment in the new building to grow to 115.

Crosstown raised funds for the construction project through private donations and charitable foundations.
