Hord Coplan Macht and Haselden Construction will plan and construct the 152,000-square-foot building that will anchor the eastern edge of the university's new science commons, Haselden Construction says in a news release.
Hord Coplan Macht (formerly SLATERPAULL Architects) also is working with RATIO Architects on a $56 million, 60,000-square-foot chemistry building that will be erected adjacent to the biology building.
The biology facility will have classrooms and research facilities, as well as large, two-story idea spaces for students and faculty to collaborate outside the research and teaching laboratories.
The university has scheduled a groundbreaking for both the biology and chemistry buildings on Oct. 15.
