Case Western meets $1 billion fundraising goal

The university had planned to raise $1 billion by December 2016, but as a result of its successful fundraising efforts has decided to extend the campaign to raise an additional $500 million.

Case Western Reserve University announced that it has met its $1 billion fundraising drive more than two years ahead of its proposed schedule, according to Crain’s Cleveland Business.

The university had planned to raise $1 billion by December 2016, but as a result of its successful fundraising efforts has decided to extend the campaign to raise an additional $500 million. Barbara R. Snyder, the university’s president, made the announcement at a dedication for the new, 89,000-square-foot Tinkham Veale University Center.

The Center is a $50-million project that was funded entirely through donations to the university.

The money raised from the extended campaign will benefit three priority areas: student support, faculty support and capital projects.
