The more than 46,000-square-foot building, called the John J. Sbrega, PH.D. Health and Science Building, will serve as a collaborative workspace for multiple disciplines, including biology, chemistry and nursing. It is expected to open late next year as the college celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The two-story building, located at the college’s main campus in Fall River, Mass., is designed to create as much energy as it uses. A central atrium will serve as a common area.
Boston-based BOND is the construction manager. Sbrega has been the college’s president since 2000. This is the college’s first new building since 2001.
