The San Francisco University High School is planning to expand its campus with construction of a fifth building.
The building will rise on the site of what now is a two-story retail and medical office complex. The school plans to build a three-story structure for academics and administration, reports The San Francisco Chronicle.
The 47,000-square-foot building would have six science labs, four to six classrooms, administrative offices, and a basketball court.
The expansion is estimated to cost $88 million.
The new building will be four blocks from the Jackson Street campus.
University High School opened in 1975. It is a private school with a college prep curriculum that accommodates about 410 students.
Construction is set to be complete in 2025.
