The $33 million Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center in the Frisco Independent School District, Frisco, Texas, is a 125,618-square-foot facility that merges real-world professional environments with educational programs for college- and career-bound 11th- and 12th-grade students.
The contemporary, two-story structure features a masonry exterior with composite metal and zinc accent panels. Interior finishes include exposed structural systems of steel and wood. It can accommodate 970 students.
The CTE Center offers a full-service restaurant, credit union and bank, a courtroom for mock trials, TV and radio studios, computer and animation labs, an architecture lab, marketing and media centers, medical and veterinary-science labs, a warehouse, copy center and mailroom.
A 4,000-square-foot greenhouse was constructed to support the horticulture curriculum. In addition, the CTE Center houses technology laboratories, administrative areas, a testing center, an employee training area and a variety of classrooms.
The architect is SHW Group (Dallas).
