Work will begin next week on a $730 million physics research center at Michigan State University.
The Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) is expected to open between 2020 and 2022, the Associated Press reported. Michigan State competed for the project, which is expected to create 5,000 construction jobs and 400 permanent jobs, in a 2008 national competition.
