Florida Supreme Court declines to hear appeal, lets voucher law stand

The Florida Supreme Court has decided not to review a controversial school voucher law that allows students at failing schools to use vouchers funded by tax dollars to pay for tuition at private schools. A lower court said last year the law was unconstitutional, but an appeals court in October reversed that finding. The court's refusal to review the case ends only part of the constitutional challenge against the voucher law. Other issues, including the key question of church and state, are to be heard by a lower court.
