Levy wants to cut 1,500 administrative jobs from New York City school system

New York City Schools Chancellor Harold Levy has announced a sweeping reorganization of the Board of Education staff. The plan would eliminate more than 1,500 administrative jobs over three years and give far more autonomy to local school superintendents.
