Republicans in the Ohio House will try to pass

a $1.8 billion school-funding plan that could end 10 years of legal wrangling

over the equity and adequacy of school funding. The House GOP leadership chose a more costly plan than either of those offered by Gov. Bob Taft and majority Senate Republicans.
