Official proposes $59 million boost for Prince George's County, Md., schools

The Prince George's County, Md., Executive has proposed increasing school spending by $59 million to pay for a teachers' raise, two new elementary schools and about 40 new guidance counselors. The proposed increase was far less than the $158 million boost that school officials had requested.
