Durham County, N.C., bond issue proposal to include $51 million for school construction

Durham County, N.C., commissioners are placing a $63.9 million bond issue on the ballot in November, including $51.7 million for school construction. School officials estimated that they need about four times the bond amount--roughly $200 million in construction--to accommodate rapid growth in the school system.
