District poised for school projects SACRAMENTO - The Sacramento City Unified School District recently passed a bond issue for the design and construction of a new high school and the modernization of other district facilities.
The new 230,000-square-foot high school will accommodate 1,200 to 1,600 students in grades 9 to12 and has an estimated construction cost of $36 million. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2003.
Numerous other campuses will be modernized, and will involve the replacement and addition of classrooms and other services. The scope of the services will include upgrades to air conditioning, and inclusion of electrical components and infrastructure for technology. Schools will be ADA-compliant, and interior finishes will be upgraded.
Architect for the project is DLR Group.
