ATLANTA — The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) is expanding its campus. The new 287,000-square-foot Ford Motor Company Environmental Science and Technology Building is the campus' largest building to date, and will incorporate Georgia Tech's focus on interdisciplinary research and study.

The facility will be the home to the university's efforts to develop sustainable technologies that benefit the economy and the environment. The $58 million facility was designed to promote collaboration among researchers from diverse disciplines. It will provide office space for 80 faculty and their graduate students, research laboratories, classrooms and the Technology Development Center.

The building is scheduled for completion in summer 2002.

Architect for the project is HOK.
