Across the Nation: Design for science building

State University of New York in Geneseo
Feb. 1, 2001

GENESEO - State University of New York in Geneseo has completed plans for its $33 million Integrated Science Building.

The design, which attempts to establish a "visual bond" with the current campus, creates a welcome addition to the college green and a focal point to a revitalized quad. The addition will provide classrooms, laboratory facilities and offices. The construction will include renovation of 40,000 square feet of Greene Hall.

Six teaching and research greenhouses, which will be integral design elements, are included in the project.

This is the largest design for SUNY in Geneseo since South Hall's completion in 1995. Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum completed the design.
