Ithaca College building achieves platinum LEED rating

Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise opened earlier this year

TheDorothy D. and Roy H. Park Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise at Ithaca (N.Y.) College has become the first college or university business school facility to receive platinum LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The 38,800-square-foot facility opened earlier this year. Green design strategies incorporated into the building include: a vegetated roof; extensive use of natural lighting; purchase of 50 percent of the electricity from renewable sources; and a storm-water reclamation system. The architect is Robert A.M. Stern Architects., the environmental design consultant is Atelier 10, and the construction manager is Gilbane Building Company.
