Indiana middle school seeks LEED certification

Avon district breaks ground on 220,000-square-foot facility.

The Avon (Ind.) Community School Corporation has broken ground on the district’s second middle school. The 220,000-square-foot school will house 900 students and has been designed to be energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. The district hopes to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
