Bedbug infestation forces Washington, D.C. school to close
Students have been moved out of a elementary school building in Washington, D.C., after rodents and bedbugs were discovered there.
NBC Washington reports that students at Savoy Elementary School will be housed for several weeks at a temporary location while workers thoroughly clean the school building and replace all soft materials, including rugs, cots, blankets and pillows.
Classes have been canceled Monday and Tuesday.
Starting Wednesday, students will attend classes at the Ferebee Hope Elementary School campus. The district will provide transportation to and from the new location.
Before Savoy can reopen for students, the facility will have to pass a safety and health inspection.
