The Auburn University Board of Trustees has approved a $323 million upgrade of the football stadium on the Auburn, Alabama, campus.

Al.com reports that the project will add a multipurpose event center to the north end zone of Jordan-Hare Stadium.

It’s the second major project to the north side of Jordan-Hare Stadium in recent years; a new north endzone videoboard was added last season.

The multipurpose building is designed for both gameday and campus use and will include dining and concession venues, a multipurpose hall and ballroom, and premium suites.

“The Jordan-Hare North Project will benefit Auburn for generations, elevating the experience for all fans on football Saturdays while also enhancing the campus community year-round,” Auburn athletic director John Cohen said.

Along with the multipurpose building project, the board also approved a proposal for a “re-envisioning” of the space outside the stadium.

The university will construct an elevated plaza above Heisman Drive between Jordan-Hare Stadium and Petrie Hall that "will provide an inviting outdoor gathering space that strengthens pedestrian connectivity across campus, adds landscaped green space and hardscape and enhances the overall arrival experience," the university says.

The projects are expected to be finished by fall 2029.
