Utah Valley University begins construction of soccer stadium

The $20 million UCCU Stadium at Clyde Field on the Orem campus will have an expanded capacity of 3,000 spectators and a Major League Soccer-style press box.

Utah Valley University in Orem has held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of a $20 million soccer-specific stadium.

The 22,000-square-foot UCCU Stadium at Clyde Field is being built on the west side of the existing Clyde Field. 

Planned amenities include advanced locker rooms, a team lounge, specialized areas for visiting teams and officials, and an expanded spectator capacity of 3,000.The facility will boast an Major League Soccer-style press box with broadcast capabilities and eight luxury suites.

"With the completion of the UCCU Stadium, we're set to elevate this beloved sport, offering our student-athletes and fans an unparalleled experience," says University President Astrid S. Tuminez.

Officials envision the facility becoming a cornerstone of UVU Athletics, providing a competitive edge for the Wolverines and an enhanced experience for fans.
