5 students injured, 2 seriously, after truck slams into stopped school bus in Florida
Five students were injured Wednesday when a truck crashed into the back of a stopped school bus in Levy County, Fla.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the school bus activated its flashing red lights as it was getting ready to let students off, but the truck driver failed to stop and hit the back of the bus, reports WCJB-TV.
The students attend Yankeetown School in Yankeetown, Fla.
Five students were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Three were released after treatment; two girls were in serious condition after undergoing surgery, WCJB-TV reports.
The bus driver had minor injuries; the truck driver was not injured.
