The University of Michigan has agreed to pay $60 million to acquire a former college campus in Ann Arbor.

Mlive.com reports that the purchase of Concordia University’s former campus would place an additional 140 acres of land under the University of Michigan's control. The university has not said what the property will be used for.

Concordia’s campus has gone largely unused for a few years. Several academic and athletic buildings are still standing, including Concordia’s former football stadium.

Concordia University Wisconsin, which oversees the Ann Arbor university affiliate, shut down the campus more than a year ago. The Wisconsin university’s Board of Trustees voted to downsize the Ann Arbor school, which now operates largely online without any athletic teams or campus events.
