Trinity Christian College, a private liberal arts institution in Palos Heights, Illinois, will close at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year.

The Southwest News Herald reports that Trinity faced mounting challenges, including post-Covid financial losses, declining enrollment, heightened competition for students, and shifts in donor support.

"Like many small, private universities across the country, we have been financially impacted by fast-evolving economic and cultural realities," the college stated on its website. "Unfortunately, after reviewing assessments from financial and higher education advisors, and following a period of intense and prayerful deliberation and discernment, Trinity’s Board of Trustees has determined there is no path toward long-term sustainability for our beloved institution."

The college has educated students for 66 years.

Students who will not graduate in May will have access to teach-out and transfer opportunities through other regional Christian colleges. Faculty and staff will also receive guidance and support to transition to new professional opportunities.
