Curtis Blake Day School, a K-8 school for children with learning disabilities in Springfield, Mass., is set to close next month because of pandemic-related staffing shortages.
The school's board of directors decided to close as of Jan.14 after being unable to maintain adequate staffing levels, reportsWGGB-TV News.The school is working with parents to find appropriate placements for their children.
Curtis Blake Day School has been operating at the Children's Study Home Mill Pond campus since 2015.
“I know this will be difficult for families, but it will hopefully get students some better immediate options and we can look at how we review and restart the program in a way that ensures that the program is meeting student’s needs and doing so in a way that is consistent and sustainable," said Will Davila, the school's executive director and CEO.
