Massachusetts high school is constructing a parking canopy outfitted with solar panels

The structure at North High School in Worcester will have a capacity of 718 kilowatts.

A solar parking canopy will help provide renewable energy for North High School in Worcester, Mass. 

The structure will have a capacity of 718 kilowatts and once completed will be the second largest solar array on municipal property in Worcester, reports Spectrum News 1. 

Contractors began construction of the parking canopy in August.

Solar parking canopies will also be constructed at the Nelson Place Elementary School and West Tatnuck Elementary School.
