New Orleans’ academic success with charter schools has the rest of the nation watching, according to the Christian Science Monitor. Nine in 10 students in New Orleans attend charter schools since Hurricane Katrina devastated the city. The good news is that in the wake of the storm and an increased number of students attending charter schools, test scores and graduation rates have steadily climbed.
