More families may join discrimination lawsuit against St. Paul, Minn., teacher

Sixth-grade teacher is accused of unfairly treating African-American students
Dec. 5, 2012

From The St. Paul Pioneer Press: More families might join a racial discrimination lawsuit against the St. Paul (Minn.) school district, the Heights Community School principal and a former teacher. The families of three former Heights students filed the suit last spring. They allege that Timothy Olmsted, who taught sixth grade, discriminated against black students and that supervisors did not act on complaints. Now, lawyers say the families of several other African-American students report they had similar experiences in Olmsted's classroom.
