Illinois governor to seek $25 million to boost college campus security

State task force report says needed improvements would cost $41 million

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich will ask legislators for $25 million to help colleges bolster security, a job the state's public universities estimated would cost $41 million, according to a campus security task force. The task force issued recommendations on emergency response, mental health services and the treatment of privacy laws.
